In a large bowl dissolve the sugar in the lukewarm water. Sprinkle the yeast on top and cover with a clean dish towel. Let sit for 15 minutes. Then Stir in the rice flour, starch and instant yeast. Let rise for 5 minutes.
Brush a square baking dish generously with the butter. Roll the dough into 12 balls. Place into the buttered baking pan, then generously brush with the rest of the butter. Let rise in a warm place for 10 minutes.
Bake for 15 minutes. Flip the buns upside down onto a baking tray, then bake for another 5 minutes. Brush with butter once more after they come out of the oven.
