Recipe Notes For Making The Best Monster Munch Mix :

  • Any flavour of Chex Cereal can be used for this recipe.
  • I used sweet and salty popcorn from a bag but air popped, microwaved popcorn or even caramel corn would also work well.
  • I bought the candy eyes and the orange candy melts from my local craft store.
  • If you don’t have orange candy melts, you can use white chocolate instead. Try adding orange food colouring to it or just leave it white.
  • If you can’t find candy eyes, you can use m&ms or reese’s pieces.
  • This snack mix should NOT be stored in the fridge or freezer. Store all extras in an air-tight container. This last for up to 2 weeks when stored at room temperature.

Easy Halloween Gumdrop Nougat Candy

October 4, 2022 by officially gluten free Leave a Comment

This Easy Gumdrop Nougat Candy is a Halloween Must! It’s a Chewy, Gooey, White Marshmallow Nougat mixed with Orange and Black Jujubes. It’s the perfect no-bake gluten free treat to make sure your Halloween is filled with fun.
Easy Halloween Gumdrop Nougat Candy

What is Halloween Gumdrop Nougat Candy?

This Halloween nougat is a homemade gluten free candy that’s made with marshmallows and white chocolate. It makes a soft and chewy no-bake candy that’s made deliciously festive by adding coloured gumdrops or jujubes.

Halloween Nougat Ingredients:

You’ll only need 3 ingredients to make this delicious gluten free Halloween Treat. The first is Marshmallows. Mini marshmallows work best but regular marshmallows will also work. Next you’ll need white chocolate. I use chocolate chips because they’re a lot easier to melt. The last thing you’ll need is orange and black jujubes or gumdrops. I picked the orange and black ones out of a larger bag of jujubes.

Easy Halloween Gumdrop Nougat Candy

Can you Double the Recipe?

Yes, you can double this Halloween gumdrop nougat recipe if you’d like to. Just use an extra pan or larger pan for it to set in. Then slice and serve like you normally would!

How to Store the Halloween Nougat

Slice up the nougat, smaller sized slices are best. Then place in an airtight container. If you stack the nougat you may want to put parchment or wax paper in between the layers so they don’t stick together.

Step 3: Stir the hot melted marshmallows (quite quickly). Mix the white chocolate chips into the hot marshmallows until completely combined. Then stir in the jujube pieces.

Step 4: Cover the bottom of a square pan with parchment paper. Then pour the nougat into the pan. Spray or grease another piece of parchment paper and use it press down on the nougat.

Easy Halloween Gumdrop Nougat Candy

Recipe Notes for Making the Best Marshmallow Nougat:

– If you want to speed up the setting up you can place in the freezer for a short while. But, in general, it is best to plan to make this a day in advance.

– When cutting candy nougat, having a really sharp knife is helpful. You will want to make sure it is  sharp enough to slice through the jujubes.

– Gumdrops or any jelly candies can be used in place of the jujubes.

– The marshmallows can be melted in a double boiler instead of instead of the microwave.

– This Recipe for Gluten Free Halloween Gumdrop Nougat Candy makes 24 pieces of Halloween Gumdrop Nougat.

Recipe Notes:

– Use a small amount of mayonnaise to hold the edible decorative eyes or peppercorn’s. Small dots of mustard or low carb ketchup can also be used to make eyes.

– I got the edible eyes from Michaels which is a Craft/ Baking Supply Store. Most Craft / Baking Supply Stores sell them. You can also buy them on Amazon.

– The fathead dough can be somewhat delicate to work with. The dough sticks to itself very well, so you can press the dough together with small sections if needed. You can also press the dough back into a ball and start over, pressing it down between the two pieces of parchment paper.
