Recipe Note For Making The Best Butterscotch Marshmallow Squares:
- If you don’t have a microwave or prefer not to use it, this recipe also works using the stove top. Melt the butter, butterscotch chips and peanut butter together in a pot over medium low heat. let cool for a few minutes before adding the marshmallows.
- Enjoy up to a week! Simply store refrigerated in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
- Make sure to use parchment paper to line your pan — it makes getting it back out of dish so much easier when you’re ready to serve it.
- I don’t recommend using large marshmallows for this recipe. You could use a knife or scissors to chop larger marshmallows down into smaller pieces if needed.
- You can speed up the cooling time by sticking the bars in the freezer!
- Try using coloured mini marshmallows to mix it up a bit.
- I used creamy peanut butter because that’s what I had on hand. However, you can also use crunchy peanut butter for a little added texture and crunch.
